Tempus Fugit

Where does the time go to? Here we are half way through August or so it seems, and I seem to be so busy. Managing elderly parents from a distance is challenging, especially when one of them is suddenly taken ill. FIL was discharged home earlier this week thank goodness, and is making progress, Mr A is on his way now to collect MIL from the respite care she has been staying in. FIL still thinks he can manage without help - watch this space! It's very hard to take a back seat when you know his life could be made a lot easier, but I respect his decision even though I don't necessarily agree with it!

My lovely friend terri ( scroll down a little ) is taking part in the Great North Run this year to raise money for the Toby Henderson Trust and I wanted to do something special to help. Up for auction on the Crafty Threads 'n' Yarns forum is this beautiful one-off never to be repeated skein of Yarn Yard Merino Tencel yarn ( 50% merino, 50% tencel, 100g, 330m, handwash ) so if you want to own this beautiful skein get on over there, the auction ends on Thursday 16th August at 10:00pm. Thank you n for dying it for me. The yarn is called Jasmine btw - in honour of terri's niece. And the colour ( on my screen ) is an accurate representation of the colours IRL.

I have been so very busy recently, and I apologise for neglecting my blog. I think this will be my last post till early September so I will leave you till then with Bob from Knitty

Bob
Yarn: Rowan All Seasons Cotton # Tope
Needles: Size 6 Millwards

My only modification was to knit Bob with a front and back and not in the round as the pattern suggested. It's a good fit and very easy to wear, and very straightforward to make. The pattern suggested that if knitting a front and back, a total of four more stitches should be cast on. This is to accommodate seaming in mattress stitch, which I don't use, so I just halved the total number of stitches.

And thank you to Linz for nominating me as a Rockin' Girl Blogger - I am honoured to be so! I'd in turn like to nominate Christina and Linda, two of my fellow participants at Colinette's crochet course last weekend.

I will see you all in September!
