I love my Postman!

Well, not quite love perhaps, but I do like it when he rings the bell and delivers lovely knitterly things!

It is almost impossible to show the detail on something as tiny as these stitchmarkers, and the photo doesn't do them justice by a long chalk, but for comparison I have placed a little Aero rowcounter so as you can see just how small they are. Thank you Sprite 64!!!! They are exquisite.

My second parcel contained two beautiful balls of SWTC Tofutsies from Button, and what beautiful soft lovely stuff it is too. Button also included two lovely patterns, which was a very thoughtful touch - it seems I shall have to get to grips with 2 circular needles at some point.

Both Button and Sprite 64 are from the Craft Threads 'n' yarns Forum - what a wonderful place the on-line knitting community is!!!!!

Parents Evening

Oh dear!!!!! Yesterday evening was Parents Evening for DS2 who is in Year 10. He had managed to book us three appointments with his teachers ( out of a possible eight!! ) but hadn't bargained for our persistence in seeing every one of them, appointment or not. I do believe he had a short sharp shock last night - there's nothing like being there while your parents hear EXACTLY what your teachers think of you to concentrate the mind!

He also hadn't bargained for having done very poorly in his exams just before half term. I don't think I have unrealistic expectations of what he can achieve, but I do want him to do himself justice which at the moment he isn't.

On a more positive note, he is doing extremely well in music and drama, so it isn't all doom and gloom. And he is popular and well liked, which is always nice to know.

There's a first time for everything!

Well, who would have thought it - litttle old me with a blog! I guess there's a first time for everything.

I thought I'd start by learning how to post a picture, so here are my Tiger Socks which I have just completed for the Sock a Month Challenge on the Crafty Threads 'n' Yarns forum.
